Best Marinade of All Times!

This could very well be the best marinade I have ever tried. This recipe was found by my mother-in-law. We always use it for chicken and steak. We rarely eat red meat, but when we eat stake, this is what we use instead of seasonings or A1. The results are better when marinated overnight, but if not possible, it needs to be marinating for an hour.
The ingredients are:

  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced (use REAL garlic, not the pre-minced kind)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • red pepper to taste
  • 1/8 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp GROUND cloves
  • 2 TBSP of canola oil
Put all ingredients in a Ziploc bag. Mix well! it works better if first you put the bag into a bowl. Be careful when handling poultry!
Add the chicken, seal the bag. Let marinade overnight or AT LEAST an hour.

Grill. Make sure the grill is screaming hot! This produces caramelization of the sugars on the outside...yum! you then reduce the temperature so it cooks evenly and does not get burnt.
Flip and cook on the other side, about 4-5 minutes each depending in the thickness of the meat.

There you have it! My family loves it and it does not even require any sauce! The chicken is juicy and super tasty! Let me know what you think! I know it seems odd to have cinnamon and cloves for meat but trust me, it does taste good!
