Clone of Cinnabon!

I love to have little treats for when my son comes from school, but it does not happen everyday. Sometimes Goldfish will do. But yesterday I made our favorite recipe of bread machine cinnamon rolls, and the actual name is " Clone of Cinnabon." I got this recipe from All Recipes but like always, I still make it my own. The actual recipe calls for bread flour and I particularly do not like it. I think it makes the dough tougher and it takes more time to rise. I also don't like frosting -I know, it's kind of awkward- so I make some with a simple glaze and some without.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup butter MELTED
  • 4 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2tsp bread machine yeast
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 TBSP cinnamon
  • extra softened butter
  • powder sugar and milk for glaze
Directions:
Follow the order of ingredients for your bread machine. Mine goes as follows: milk, butter, sugar, eggs, flour, salt. Then make the little indentation in the middle and add your yeast. Choose dough cycle and press start.


After the dough cycle is finished, take the dough out, deflate it and put it in a lightly floured counter. Roll out. The dough should be elastic just as shown on the picture. Roll out to a rectangle, about 1/4 of a inch.


Now spread the softened butter on the dough. Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle on top. I never use 1/3 cup of softened butter. I found out it does not need that much, maybe half of that!

 Now you can start rolling. Make sure you roll a little bit and then stretch the dough and kind of tuck it in. Continue rolling until it looks like the picture. Cut you rolls. We like smaller rolls, but if you really want to make the clone of Cinnabon, make them bigger! I usually bake them and leave a batch on the freezer!


 Put them in a GREASED baking sheet. Do not use Pam, butter is better. The brown sugar is really sticky
when it melts! Cover.



Glaze or put desired frosting. I simply combine powder sugar and milk until desired consistency. If you glaze do it while they are hot!
And here you have them!

  4. Mmmmm these look great!!! I love making cinnamon rolls, and I haven't made them in a while.... as soon as I saw your picture I thought, I have to make some soon again! YUM!!
