Easiest Homemade Ice Cream


This is the easiest recipe for homemade ice cream. There are only three ingredients needed: 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla. And there is no ice cream machine required (well, you do need a mixer). Imagine the possibilities!!!! Drop some fruit in there, add unsweetened cocoa, chocolate chips, nuts, marshmallows....they are endless...It would be even better to add  a teaspoon of vanilla beans and reduce the vanilla extract to 1.
The process is pretty much self explanatory.



First, cover a loaf size pan with wrapping plastic. This would be better if you plan to present the ice cream on a platter and decorate for a party or a nice dessert. However, I found that sometimes with frozen desserts they kind of taste like metal if they have been in the pan for a day or so. Doing this helps the cream not to touch the metal.


Combine all the ingredients in a big bowl.


Start mixing first at medium speed for 2 minutes and then high speed for another 5 or so.


 It will start to thicken, just like whipping cream.




When you see that soft thick peaks are showing it is done.


Put in your pan.

Wrap up! Freeze for 8 hours.


Unwrap.

Serve! It is actually creamy and it does not turn into an ice cream brick like others I have tried.


Enjoy! It is very tasty and reminds me of dulce de leche ice cream!
