- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup flour
- jello
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp oil
- food coloring
- extra flour for kneading
First, in a saucepan add all the ingredients EXCEPT the food coloring:
Cook at medium heat, stirring constantly.
It is done when it turns into a ball and it comes off the sides of the saucepan.
Take it out and put it on a floured counter. Remember, it will be HOT. Let cool before you knead.
After it cools, cut 4 to 5 pieces.
Start adding flour and kneading until is not sticky anymore. Add food coloring and knead.
Knead some more until you cannot see any flour remaining on the surface.
All ready to be played with!
How fun! :) I'd love to do this with my oldest little guy soon!

Oh, I use a very similar recipe except without the jello. Is that for making it taste better? lol My brother once made play dough (he must have been about 13) using peanut butter. It didn't last very long! ;)
